OUR HISTORY On June 1, 1980 a small group of believers gathered together to pray about starting a new church. After much prayer and consideration, the name of the new church would be The Pentecostal Outreach Church. The Rev. Jesse and Mrs. Felisa Blankenship from West Virginia felt in their hearts that God sent them to VA. to get this work started. Jesse Blankenship became the first pastor on the above date. After more than nineteen years of pastoring the church, Rev. Blankenship felt that it was time for someone to take over the position as pastor. Many wonderful things were accomplished under his leadership. Rev. David Buckner became pastor of the church on Aug. 29, 1999 until June 3, 2001. During his brief leadership as pastor, Rev. Buckner felt his call to serve the Lord on the mission fields. The former pastor, Rev. Jesse Blankenship, took the position of pastor again and remained in that position until Nov. 18, 2001. On Nov. 18, 2001 Rev. Larry Clark was voted in as the new pastor of The Pentecostal Outreach Church. Since then, the congregation has grown tremendously. The church has weathered many storms to get where it is today but through and by the grace of God it has made it! Today, the church continues to grow under Pastor Larry's leadership. Many wonderful things are continuing to happen all because of a vision that started over twenty-five years ago. Pastor Larry and the church invites all ages, races, colors and nationalities to worship with the congregation. Everyone is made to feel right at home because of the southern personality the people of the church show to all of their visitors. We take pride in loving others as we love ourselves just as the Bible teaches us to do.
